Chorea

These are post-streptococcal movement and coordination disorders, manifested by motor hyperactivity and decreased tone of the transverse striated muscles. Chorea is detected in 10-30% of patients with acute rheumatism. Genetic predisposition also plays a role in chorea in clinical forms of rheumatism.
