Symptoms

Keloid – an abnormal formation of a scar. Keloids are more common in people with darker skin types and those prone to scarring. The diagnosis is confirmed clinically. Treatment outcomes vary widely. First-line treatments include silicone ointments, intralesional corticosteroids, pressure therapy. If drug treatment is ineffective, surgery is performed.
