Varicose

Term

Chronic venous insufficiency. It occurs in more than 60% of people, more often in women. In the case of varicose veins, blood flow in the dilated veins slows down significantly, leading to the formation of thrombi in the lumen of these blood vessels. This condition begins when blood accumulates in the veins due to the incompetence of the venous valves and other factors. In our country, one in ten people suffers from either larger or smaller varicose veins. This condition worsens in the summer. Dilated superficial veins are already a symptom of advanced disease because initially, there is dilation and the incompetence of venous valves in the deep veins of the legs. Varicose veins are one of the most common vascular diseases worldwide. Varicose veins affect 25 to 28% of the population.
