Vaccination

Term

The method of creating active immunity in humans or animals against infectious diseases using vaccines. There are several vaccination methods: 1) aerosol vaccination (synonym – inhalation), when the vaccine enters the body through the respiratory mucosa, using vaccine aerosols; 2) subcutaneous (intracutaneous) (v. intracutanea) vaccine injected into the skin (inoculation); 3) inhalation vaccination using vaccine aerosols; 4) intranasal (v. intranasalis) vaccine used through the nasal mucosa; 5) conjunctival (v. conjuctivalis) vaccination, when the vaccine is used through the conjunctiva; 6) supercutaneous vaccination, vaccine used through the skin by scarifying it with a special instrument; 7) oral (peroral) vaccination, the vaccine enters the body through the gastrointestinal mucosa; 8) subcutaneous, intestinal (enteric), and other vaccination methods.
