Costochondritis is inflammation of one or more of the cartilage between the ribs. It usually presents with pain in the front of the chest wall, worsening with movement or deep inspiration. Treated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Prolonged cough and chest injury increase the risk of developing this condition.
