Inflammation is a reaction of living tissue with blood circulation to damage caused by a harmful factor. According to the course, inflammation can be acute (lasting for days) and chronic (lasting for months, years). The main local signs of inflammation are redness, swelling, heat, pain, and impaired function of the tissue or organ affected by inflammation.
