Intestinal obstruction is a surgical condition where the flow of intestinal contents through the intestines is disrupted. Possible causes include colorectal cancer, intestinal volvulus, and intestinal stenosis. The most severe complication of intestinal obstruction is intestinal perforation, which presents with intensified abdominal pain, fever, and tachycardia.
