Tuberculous peripheral lymphadenopathy
Tuberculous peripheral lymphadenopathy is tuberculosis of the lymph nodes, most commonly found in the neck. In developed countries, tuberculous lymphadenitis is rarely seen, even more so in children. This disease is more frequently diagnosed in young adults aged 20-40 in countries where tuberculosis is more prevalent (e.g., India, China), in individuals infected with HIV or with immunodeficiency due to other reasons. Cutaneous and cervical tuberculosis is often mistaken for a tumor.
