Hairy cell leukemia is a rare B-cell cancer. Under a microscope, the affected cells appear hairy. The disease involves a deficiency of all blood cells, causes fatigue, significantly enlarges the spleen, and shows the presence of hairy cells in the bone marrow. Although incurable, medication can extend life expectancy by decades.
