Urokinase

Physiological plasminogen (fibrinolytic system, whose main function is to lyse formed fibrin, compound) activator (EC 3.4.21.31). It is a serine protease that converts plasminogen into plasmin. It consists of two polypeptide chains. There is no antigenic determinant in the urokinase molecule, so repeated administration does not cause allergic complications. Urokinase is formed from prourokinase when it is affected by plasmin Mr – 31,126.5.
