System

Term

A system is a set of elements considered as a single functional structure.
A set of tissues or organs of an organism, anatomically or functionally connected to each other.

System elements do not have to be related to all other system elements, but an element not related to any system element is usually not considered part of the system. The relationships connecting system elements must form a certain unity, which is considered a property of the system.
