Synthesis

Term

– The joining or connection of various elements or parts of an object into a whole. Sometimes also the result of such a connection.

– In the philosophy of G. V. F. Hegel, it is indicated that this is the highest degree of development, resolving the contradictions of previous stages (thesis and antithesis).

– Chemical synthesis – obtaining chemical compounds from other chemical substances by joining them. For example, water synthesis: two hydrogen and one oxygen molecules combine to form two water molecules: 2H2 + O2 = 2H2O.

– Nuclear synthesis – the formation of new atomic nuclei during nuclear reactions (both fusion and fission).
