Smell

Term

One of the senses by which humans and other animals receive information from the environment is called smell. The sense of smell is possible due to special sensory cells in the nasal cavity (olfactory receptors). For organisms that breathe air, smell manifests as the ability to recognize chemicals dispersed in the air. Smell affects sexual reactions, emotions, social relationships.
