Sarcoma

Term

Malignant tumor that arises from human mesenchymal origin tissues, e.g. muscles, fat, blood vessels, nerves, cartilage, or bones, connective tissue or other cells. All of these tissues are abundant in the body, so there are also many types of sarcomas, more than 50. Sarcomas are often divided into two large groups: soft tissue sarcomas and bone sarcomas.
