Sarcoidosis

Unknown origin multisystem disease characterized by the formation of granulomas in various organs tissues. Sarcoidosis can affect all organs. It can manifest acutely, subacutely, or start without symptoms, in which case the disease is often diagnosed when there is already a chronic – lung-involved process, often resistant even to multiple long treatment courses. It also affects lymph nodes, skin, liver, spleen, eyes, parotid glands. Granulomas are composed of epithelioid and multinucleated giant cells, with small signs of necrosis or most often without them.
