Pus
Term
A yellowish-white, sweet-smelling “pus” with a salty tinge consists of dead white blood cells (granulocytes), live and dead microorganisms, tissue breakdown products, and other cellular debris. When these accumulate in a large localized collection, it forms an abscess.
