Microcirculation

Term

This is the directed movement of various fluids in tissue microsystems, oriented around microvessels and lymphatic vessels, or blood flow in small blood vessels, arterioles, capillaries, venules, and small veins. Microcirculation can be disrupted during various diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases (hypertensive disease, atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction), trauma, inflammation, shock, metastasis. This is a typical common pathological process forming the basis of many diseases.
