Hyperthyroidism

Hyperthyroidism is a condition where the thyroid gland produces an excess of iodine-containing hormones. It may be characterized by accelerated metabolism, impaired nervous, cardiovascular systems, possible respiratory and mental disorders. Thyrotoxicosis is more common in women up to 50 years of age.
