Coma

Term

This is a profound disorder of the central nervous system, characterized by loss of consciousness, unresponsiveness to external stimuli, and disruption of vital functions regulation in the body. There are several forms of coma: alcoholic, anemic, anoxic, asthmatic, acetonic, barbiturate, hemolytic, hypertonic, hyper- and hypoglycemic, mixed, and others.
