Akne

Term

This is a very common skin problem that many young people experience as they mature (acne vulgaris), inflammation of the sebaceous glands stimulated by androgens, resulting in acne, papules, inflammatory pustules, which sometimes scar. Acne worsens during puberty and adolescence, more common in males. Almost all adolescents experience acne vulgaris, but its expression varies. It is often mistakenly believed to be typical only for adolescents, although this issue affects one in five women aged 25 to 50. Nodulocystic acne is a severe nodular-cystic pathology leaving significant scars.
