Tophi in the earlobes feature as firm, whitish nodules that form due to the accumulation of urate crystals surrounded by inflammation. These nodules, typical in chronic cases of gout with prolonged high levels of uric acid, usually don’t cause pain unless they undergo pressure or trauma. You can see and sometimes feel these deposits under the skin of the earlobes.
