Tooth sensitivity refers to a sharp, temporary pain or discomfort in one or more teeth when exposed to certain stimuli, such as hot, cold, sweet, or acidic foods and drinks, or even while brushing and flossing. This condition often results from exposed dentin, enamel erosion, gum recession, or other dental issues. The pain can range from mild to severe and typically subsides once the triggering stimulus is removed.
