Tight skin over tophi

Symptoms
Related diseases

Tight skin over tophi occurs when the skin around the deposited urate crystals becomes stretched and tense. This typically happens as the tophi grow larger under the skin, leading to discomfort and sometimes a shiny appearance on the skin surface. This condition can restrict mobility and cause pain if there is pressure on the affected area. Managing tophi and maintaining control over uric acid levels are crucial to prevent further growth of the nodules and alleviate the tightness of the skin.
