“The unhealing wound” refers to a wound that does not progress through the normal stages of healing in a timely manner. Instead of mending, it remains open, slow to close, or even worsens over time. Such wounds may result from various factors, including poor blood circulation, infection, pressure, underlying health conditions like diabetes, or inadequate nutrition. Signs of an unhealing wound can include persistent pain, redness, swelling, and the presence of drainage or an odor, indicating potential complications requiring medical attention.
