The newborn has nosebleeds

Bleeding from the nose is a common symptom. Nosebleeds are usually caused by trauma, foreign bodies, or infection. More commonly, bleeding occurs when taking medications and when suffering from diseases that affect blood vessels and reduce blood clotting.
