The baby is jaundiced

Yellowing of the skin and mucous membranes (eyes, mouth). Jaundice occurs when there is an increase in bilirubin in the blood. Usually, jaundice can occur due to one of three main reasons: 1) jaundice due to accelerated breakdown of red blood cells (hemolysis), 2) due to impaired liver function, 3) due to an obstruction preventing bile from flowing into the duodenum (stone, tumor, inflammation, parasites).
