Sodium deficiency, also known as hyponatremia, occurs when blood sodium levels drop below normal. This condition can result from excessive fluid intake, kidney dysfunction, or hormonal imbalances. Symptoms of sodium deficiency include headaches, nausea, confusion, muscle cramps, and in severe cases, seizures or coma. Proper diagnosis and management are crucial to restore sodium balance and prevent complications.
