Sensory disturbance is a sensation of tingling, numbness, prickling, needle-like poking, crawling of ants, or a burning sensation on the skin without any visible or clear physical cause. The most common sensory disturbance is a temporary disruption of nerve impulses in a specific area. Other causes may include nerve system damage, panic attacks, or infection caused by herpes.
