Rapid pulse
A rapid pulse, also known as tachycardia, occurs when the heart rate exceeds the normal resting rate, typically more than 100 beats per minute in adults. Various factors, including exercise, stress, fever, dehydration, or medical conditions such as hyperthyroidism, anemia, or heart disorders, can cause it. Common symptoms include dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain, or palpitations. Monitoring the pulse and identifying the underlying cause are essential for proper management. Sometimes, you may need medical treatment or lifestyle changes, such as reducing caffeine intake and managing stress, to control the condition. If you experience a rapid pulse with severe symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
