Swallowing disorder, or dysphagia, occurs when a patient experiences pain while swallowing, sometimes they cannot swallow at all, food enters the nose, trachea. Swallowing disorder often occurs due to pain caused by inflammation of the oral cavity, pharynx, esophagus, infection, ulcers, injuries, less commonly – glossopharyngeal or lingual pharyngeal nerve neuralgia. Sometimes swallowing is impaired when the esophagus is affected by a tumor, scar tissue after injury, congenital defects.
