Pain defecating
Pain defecating. Anal problems such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures, or anal abscesses commonly cause pain during defecation. This pain can feel sharp, stinging, or burning. Often, constipation or hard stools coexist with this pain, because they can make these conditions worse. However, severe conditions like colorectal cancer can also cause pain during defecation. Drinking more water and eating more fiber can help, as they soften stool and lessen the strain during bowel movements. But for prolonged or severe pain during defecation, individuals should get medical advice to rule out any serious underlying conditions and receive the correct treatment.
