A nodule is a small elevation on the skin or mucous membrane. It can range from a few millimeters to 1 cm, can be spherical, oval, or irregular in shape, pink, red, or purplish-blue. The surface of the nodule is smooth, warty, or concave, sometimes flaking. As the nodule regresses, it flattens, later turning into a dark or light spot that eventually disappears completely.
