Loss of appetite or anorexia, is a nonspecific symptom that often accompanies infectious diseases, many gastrointestinal disorders, heart diseases, severe intoxication, emotional pain, certain mental illnesses (for example, nervous anorexia). Lack of appetite can also be a side effect of medications.
