Joint redness
Joint redness, or erythema over a joint, typically results from the dilation or congestion of small blood vessels in the area as part of the body’s response to injury or infection. This increased blood flow helps move immune cells to the area to fight pathogens or initiate healing. Joint redness usually accompanies other symptoms such as swelling, warmth, pain, and limited range of motion. It frequently appears in inflammatory conditions like arthritis, including gout, rheumatoid arthritis, or septic arthritis.
