Insomnia – a condition where long periods of wakefulness occur instead of the usual normal sleep. Insomnia can be experienced by healthy individuals after strong emotions, due to changes in the environment, overeating, hunger, cold, heat, noise. Often, sleeplessness is caused by pain, coughing, damage to the nervous system, or mental illnesses. There can be various forms of insomnia: difficulty falling asleep in the evening, restless sleep with frequent awakenings, early morning awakening. People suffering from insomnia feel restless during the day, irritable, their physical and mental performance decreases, and headaches may occur.
