Inability to lift the eyelids, also known as ptosis, refers to the drooping or falling of one or both upper eyelids. This condition can be more pronounced when the individual is tired or has been using the affected muscles extensively. As a result, it may become difficult for the person to fully open their eyes, leading to a partially closed or closed appearance of the eyelids. This symptom can interfere with vision and is a common characteristic of conditions like myasthenia gravis, where muscle weakness is prominent.
