Hot joint
A “hot joint” refers to a joint that feels warm or hot to the touch, a common symptom in cases of joint inflammation or infection. This warmth results from increased blood flow to the area as the body reacts to injury or disease, helping to transport immune cells and nutrients necessary for healing. Conditions such as arthritis, including gout and rheumatoid arthritis, often feature hot joints among their symptoms, indicating active inflammation. This symptom is typically accompanied by redness, swelling, and pain in the affected joint.
