Frequent breathing
Frequent breathing, also known as tachypnea, refers to an abnormally rapid breathing rate. Respiratory rate higher than 20 times per minute. This symptom can arise from various conditions such as respiratory infections, asthma, anxiety, heart disease, or other underlying health issues. Individuals experiencing frequent breathing may feel short of breath, anxious, or fatigued, and may notice their chest moving rapidly. It often requires medical evaluation to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment.
