A formed hump, also known as kyphosis or a dowager’s hump, occurs when the upper spine curves excessively, resulting in a visible hump on the back. This condition causes back pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. Diseases such as osteoporosis, Scheuermann’s disease, degenerative disc disease, and spinal tumors also contribute to the development of a formed hump.
