Facial muscle weakness involves a reduced ability to move the muscles in the face. Common causes include:
- Bell’s palsy: Sudden, temporary weakness on one side of the face.
- Stroke: Blood flow interruption to parts of the brain affecting facial muscles.
- Infections: Such as Lyme disease or herpes zoster.
- Neuromuscular disorders: Like myasthenia gravis.
- Brain tumors or lesions.
