Difficulty breathing, also known as dyspnea, is the sensation of uncomfortable or labored breathing. It can manifest as shortness of breath, tightness in the chest, or an inability to take a deep breath. Dyspnea can result from various conditions, including respiratory infections, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart conditions, anxiety, or exposure to allergens and irritants. Immediate medical attention is necessary if the condition is severe or sudden, as it may indicate a serious underlying health issue.
