Cyanosis
Cyanosis is a bluish discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes, occurring due to an increase in reduced hemoglobin in the blood. Respiratory failure, heart diseases, poisoning with nitrates, sulfonamides, aniline, congenital heart diseases, and congenital pathological forms of hemoglobin cause cyanosis. This condition is more visible where the skin is thin and blood circulation slows down, such as on the face, tip of the nose, lips, earlobes, fingertips, and nails.
