Chronic diarrhea
Diarrhea – frequent bowel movements. When having diarrhea, stools can be liquid and copious (more than 250 g per day), there may be few liquid stools or they may be normal. Diarrhea is caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, food poisoning, chemicals, medications, neurological disorders, inflammation, cancerous processes. Acute diarrhea lasts up to 10 days. Chronic diarrhea can last a week, several months, or years. Acute diarrhea is life-threatening because the body loses a lot of fluids and salts.
