Back pain is a common symptom that can vary in intensity, duration, and location. It affects individuals of all ages and can arise from various causes, including muscle strain, ligament sprain, herniated discs, arthritis, or underlying medical conditions.

Types of Back Pain:

  1. Acute Back Pain: Typically lasts less than six weeks. This type of pain is often due to an injury or sudden strain.
  2. Chronic Back Pain: Persists for more than three months. This pain can be constant or intermittent and may require long-term management.
  3. Radicular Pain: Radiates from the back into the legs or arms due to nerve compression, often termed sciatica when affecting the lower extremities.
  4. Referred Pain: Originates from another part of the body but is felt in the back.
