Absence of tears

Absence of tears, also known as alacrima, occurs when the eyes fail to produce tears. This condition often results from severe dehydration, certain genetic disorders, or damage to the tear glands. Without adequate tears, the eyes become dry, irritated, and more susceptible to infections. Addressing the underlying cause and using artificial tears can help manage this condition.
