Levocabastinum
Description
Piperidine group antihistamine drug, selective
histamine H1 receptor antagonist, reducing
nasal itching, sneezing, and secretions.
Indications
Seasonal allergic rhinitis.
Contraindications
Increased sensitivity to the drug; children under 5
years old.
Dosage
For adults. Allergic rhinitis: 100 μg (2
sprays) into each nostril 2 (3-4) times
per day for no longer than 4 weeks.
For children. Same as for adults.
Undesirable reactions
Most common: nasal mucosa burning, tingling.
Others: due to absorption – headache, dry mouth,
drowsiness, fatigue; nosebleeds.
Warnings
Use with caution in case of impaired kidney function, children under
12 years old. Not recommended for use in
pregnant or nursing women.
