Description
Hydrocortisone and antibiotics.
Indications
Local treatment of eczema and dermatitis (atopic eczema, primary contact dermatitis, allergic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis), treatment of complicated bacterial infection caused by microorganisms sensitive to fucidic acid.
Contraindications
Not to be used for primary skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, or viruses (e.g., herpes or chickenpox); hypersensitivity to any component; not to be used in patients with skin infections, atrophic skin diseases, tuberculosis, syphilis, perioral dermatitis, or rosacea.
Dosage
Adults. Ung. Apply to affected skin areas 2 times daily. Treatment duration – not longer than 2 weeks.
Children. Long-term local treatment with cream should not be prescribed, especially in infants and children under 18 months.
Pregnancy
Use during pregnancy is only possible when the benefit outweighs the potential harm to the fetus.
Breastfeeding
The safety of using the drug during breastfeeding has not been studied. The amount of the topically applied drug that can enter breast milk should not affect the baby.
Warnings
Suppression of adrenal function may occur without occlusive dressing. Cream should be applied carefully around the eyes. If the product gets into the eyes, glaucoma may develop. In case of bacterial infection, systemic chemotherapy should be prescribed. Not recommended for: atrophic skin, skin wounds, common acne, weak skin veins, itching of the anus and genital areas. Also, avoid applying this cream on open wounds and mucous membranes. Bacterial resistance is possible. The combination of corticosteroids and antibiotics should not be prescribed for longer than 7 days. Corticosteroids can mask increased sensitivity reactions. The composition includes butylhydroxyanisole and cetyl alcohol, which can cause a local skin reaction.
