How to call for emergency medical assistance
HOW TO CALL FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
To call for emergency medical assistance, do it yourself or ask for help.
1. Call tel. 112 (the general emergency number in Lithuania and throughout Europe). Ask the operator to connect you to emergency medical assistance.
2. Describe the location where emergency medical assistance is needed (specify the district, street, road, address). Provide other landmarks, such as buildings or other noticeable objects.
3. Dictate your phone number from which you are calling and state your name.
4. Describe in detail what happened.
5. Mention the possible number of casualties (injured or ill individuals).
6. State the age of the casualties.
7. Inform whether the casualties are conscious and breathing.
8. Do not hang up until instructed by the operator.
Most countries have qualified specialists who will instruct you on how to provide assistance.

If you do not have a phone:
Ask for help or ask the casualty, if conscious, if they have one;
Use radio communication, email, flags, or light signals as much as possible.
