Vestibular schwannoma is a benign, slow-growing tumor that most commonly causes hearing loss on one side, accompanied by intermittent episodes of dizziness and facial numbness. Larger tumors can cause headaches, coordination problems, hydrocephalus. The diagnosis is confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging with gadolinium. It is treated surgically or with focused radiation therapy. There is no drug treatment available.
