Congenital hip dysplasia

Description of the disease
Symptoms

Congenital hip dysplasia is a pathological anatomical connection between the femoral head and the acetabulum, which disrupts bone development and leads to early-onset arthritis and disability. If this anatomical connection stabilizes within weeks or months, doctors call this type of congenital hip dysplasia transient. Doctors diagnose it by performing specific tests on newborns up to 6 months. Ultrasonography confirms the diagnosis. In most cases, treatment involves conservatively using special abduction braces.
